The two world wars had put an end to internationalisation. But the massive upturn of the economy soon after World War II meant that personal wealth grew to a degree that made many insurers concentrate only on their home markets. A multitude of new products needed insuring and new products covering a wide range of risks came on the market. The USA led the way in advertising such products.
